Driver Hits Child Riding Bike In Renton: Police
The collision happened Wednesday evening in the Renton Highlands, police said.

RENTON, WA - A driver hit a child riding bike Wednesday evening in the Renton Highlands area, according to police. The collision happened around 6 p.m. along the 100 block of Jericho Avenue Southeast, which is just a few blocks north of Maplewood Park.
The child suffered minor injuries, police said, and the driver remained at the scene.
"[The] collision is believed to have occurred at low speeds," police reported. "The child was not wearing a helmet at the time of collision and did not cross at a crosswalk."

On Monday morning, a young girl and her mother were both hit by a driver while crossing in a crosswalk near Benson Hill Elementary. The girl was critically injured and was being treated in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The mother was seriously injured.
