Find Your Peace And Experience It Daily
Some of the most special times I experience weekly involve my father, Zackery. I am enlightened by the life lessons he shares along the way.
Time passes quickly, and as we watch days spring forward somehow we often find ourselves unable to keep up with the many expectations we are met with on a daily basis. I often wonder if being current with everything is even a possibility. Despite all that we must do, I know there are aspects of my week that I await. One of those times are enjoying the conversations that I share with my father, Zackery Bouey. His words of wisdom often place me on a journey to find additional appreciation in life. Sometimes I feel as if I may be missing out on things, but I remain unsure. However, four simple reminders he has provided me with help to embrace daily calmness, grasp peace and has caused a life turn-around.
Grasp Stillness-Sometimes these moments come in the most unexpected places, or at unusual times. It may mean sitting in a room and turning off the music, television, telephone, or any type of distraction. Acknowledge what is happening or what is going on around you. How do you feel about it? Don't ignore them. Take the time to slowly walk your way through those feelings. There can be strength in a peaceful confrontation.
Practice Personal Limits- You may have had enough, or at other times you just may want to be left alone. There is nothing wrong with informing others you need some personal space or time. Set limits. You may not feel like doing something now. Perhaps later. Maybe never. Is it really so bad if you don't want to do it? Think about it, and acknowledge what you are comfortable with. And, if you realize you are not, take steps to bring things to a halt by saying "no." After you utilize it the first time, the next time will feel easier.

Find Health Promotion- In order to be in a good place, you must take care of your health. This means physically and mentally. One is not good, if the other is out of alignment. You must strive towards finding a balance that feels right. Find a movement that places you in a comfortable groove. This may include activities such as walking, hiking, sport participation, dancing... whatever it is get something you enjoy so your chances of continuation will become easy and feel natural.
Express Yourself-At times we all feel like we must carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. This is not good, nor is it healthy. To bring about a peaceful state we must take a close look and determine who we can trust to reveal our true self to...family, friends, professionals. We all must have a release to lighten our loads. The sooner we put this in to place the better.

Making minor adjustments in the way we handle things on a daily basis can aid in bringing peace to our lives. By taking the time to look, experience, and developing proper responses we can lighten our loads and turn challenging situations in to ones that are bearable.
