Seattle firefighters and Puget Sound Energy crews were working on fixing the leak around 9:15 a.m.

SEATTLE, WA — A natural gas leak at a home along Rainier Avenue South forced the closure of the road Monday morning, according to SDOT. All lanes of Rainier were closed because of the incident, but the department said around 11 a.m. that crews were beginning to clear the scene.

The leak happened along the 10300 block of Rainier Ave, which is near 75th Avenue South and just east of Lakeridge Park. The leak did force the evacuation of several homes in the area.
