Hazen High School Evacuated After Fireworks Set Off Inside
Police were called to Hazen High School on reports of gunfire Tuesday afternoon. Officers instead found evidence of fireworks.

RENTON, WA — A Renton high school was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after several 911 calls reporting possible gunshots inside the building, according to police. Officers were called to Hazen High School shortly after 2 p.m. and soon found evidence of what appeared to be firecrackers in a school hallway. Police said students were evacuated as a precaution, and officers would stay on campus to assist students and staff.
Investigators said it was not immediately clear who ignited the fireworks.
Information regarding potential disciplinary action for any students involved has not been released.
