Help Restore the Duwamish Hill Preserve!

April showers bring May flowers, but they also bring WEEDS

Join volunteers to help restore this culturally significant preserve
and city park. Event activities include invasive weed removal, mulching
and planting as seasonally appropriate.

About the Property: The
property will be managed as a public open space preserve devoted to the
interpretation of the site’s Native American cultural significance and
other aspects of Duwamish River Valley natural and cultural history. The
Hill is culturally significant for its association with southern Puget
Sound Salish oral tradition and history, as a key location in the
stories collectively known as the “Epic of the Winds.”

What to bring: Please dress for the weather. Suggested
Dress: Boots or comfortable athletic shoes, work clothes, appropriate
layers for rain and sun. Volunteers should also bring a refillable water
bottle and snacks.  Restoration training, tools and gloves will be
provided. No experience necessary!



Where to meet: Duwamish Hill Preserve is located at:
3800 S 115th St Tukwila, WA 98168.  We will meet at the parking lot at
the 115th St. Preserve entrance.
