Large House Fire In Renton Closes Major Street: Firefighters
A heavily-involved fire at a home forced the closure of 116th Avenue.

RENTON, WA - Renton police closed 116th Avenue between Southeast 192nd and 188th due to a large house fire, according to firefighters. The fire was located in a home along the 18800 block of 116th, which is across the street from Benson Hill Elementary.
Firefighters reported the fire was heavily involved and threatening other homes in the area. Firefighters were having difficulty reaching parts of the home due to electrical wires, firefighters reported. Renton police reported the fire was under control by 5:45 p.m.
Other fire departments assisted Renton with the fire including Kent's Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.
