Renton Man Burned Trying To Put Out House Fire
Firefighters responded to the fire near Maplewood Park Tuesday morning.

RENTON, WA - Firefighters responded to a house fire near Maplewood Park Tuesday morning. Smoke and flames were visible from the vicinity around the fire. Firefighters also reported that there was at least one burn victim.
The victim was the elderly homeowner, who apparently tried to put out the fire with a garden hose. His burns were described as "minor." The fire department had the blaze under control shortly after arriving.
The fire was located along the 4900 block of Northeast 1st Street, a few blocks west of Maplewood Heights Elementary School and Maplewood Park.
