King County To Hire 350+ Workers For November Election

King County Elections is searching for hundreds of temporary workers to assist with the 2020 general election. Pay starts at $20 an hour.

RENTON, WA β€” King County Elections is searching for more than 350 short-term temporary workers to assist with the general election at its Renton headquarters. Available positions vary, and the first round of hires will begin in late September. The county said most positions will last three to four weeks, but some will only be needed for a few days.

Duties can include assisting with customer service, voter registration, ballot processing, signature verification and ballot collection.

Wages fluctuate depending on assignment and range from $19.99 to $22.57 an hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and need to complete an online job application no later than Monday, Aug. 17.

To move forward in the process, applicants must also pass an online data entry and computer skills assessment, which will be offered from Aug. 18 to Aug. 20. Other requirements include the ability to work and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

A second informational session is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. Applicants who move through the screening process will be scheduled for a remote interview on Aug. 26.
