Man Charged In Friend's Stabbing Death Outside Renton

The King County Sheriff's Office said the 41-year-old suspect told investigators he found his friend's body after he woke up from a nap.

RENTON, WA — King County detectives arrested a 41-year-old man, just a few days after he called 911 to report the death of his friend, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies were called to a house on the 18800 block of Southeast 216th Street, in the Shadow Lake area, on Feb. 15.

Investigators said the man called 911 and said he woke up from a nap and found his 51-year-old friend unresponsive on the ground, holding a knife in his hand. Medics took the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.

In the days since King County's major crime detectives said they developed probable cause to arrest the 911 caller as a homicide suspect.

King County prosecutors charged Vinks McIntire with first-degree manslaughter during a hearing Thursday afternoon. Court documents identified the victim as Demetrius Fletcher. Prosecutors requested bail be set at $750,000.
