Man Dies In Fire At Renton Homeless Camp

The fire broke out around 5 p.m. near office buildings along Oakesdale Avenue, according to police.

RENTON, WA — A man was found dead after a fire at a homeless camp along Oakesdale Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, according to Renton police.

A Renton police officer noticed smoke near the 1900 block of Oakesdale at around 5 p.m. Firefighters discovered the man's body after putting out the fire.

The King County Medical Examiner did not identify the man, citing an ongoing Renton Fire Authority inquiry.
