Man With 'Super-Human Strength' Ran Over Boeing Worker: Police

RENTON, WA - Renton police have released new details about the strange incident in the downtown area Monday where a Boeing security guard was run over by a man driving a sports car.

According to police, the guard was still in critical condition at Harborview Tuesday afternoon. The man who allegedly ran him over was taken to the King County jail on a vehicular assault charge.

The incident began Monday morning at Gene Coulon Park. The suspect allegedly walked up behind a city parks employee and assaulted him. The parks employee was able to call 911 and give a description of the attacker's car.

Police spotted the car driving near the park. They followed him along Logan Avenue until, at one point, the attacker appeared to be slowing down to pull over. Instead, the attacker sped up and drove toward the security guard, running him over.

The attacker crashed a short distance away, but still fought with police.

"As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody he fought back with what can be described as super human strength," Renton Sgt. Christy Matthews wrote in a press release.

Police did not release any more details saying that the incident is still under investigation.
