OLYMPIA, WA — There is just over a week to go until Election Day, and Monday is the last chance for voters to register or change their information online or by mail in time for the Aug. 3 primaries. In-person voter registration continues up until the moment polls close at 8 p.m. on election night.

Hundreds of candidates in 37 of Washington's 39 counties are vying to make it to the general election in November, and the Secretary of State's office reports more than 4.3 million registered voters across the state are eligible to cast ballots. As of Friday evening, just over 300,000 ballots were marked as returned. In King County, elections officials estimate more than half of ballots will come in on the last two days of voting.

To be eligible to vote in the 2021 August Primary, each person must be:

  • A citizen of the United States
  • A legal resident of Washington state
  • At least 18 years old by Election Day
  • Not under the authority of the Department of Corrections
