RENTON, WA — Amazon is moving forward with plans to open a second warehouse to handle same-day deliveries in Puget Sound. According to The Seattle Times, the retail giant recently filed for permits to transform a 126,000 square-foot warehouse on Raymond Avenue Southwest in Renton and improve delivery times. Amazon already operates a similar facility in Everett.

According to the Times, plans for the facility have hit a temporary roadblock as the city considers concerns flagged by state transportation officials about the potential effects of adding hundreds of cars traveling to and from the facility, adding to congestion on the freeway ramps. City officials are scheduled for a review of the project next month.
