Pedestrian Critically Injured Getting Hit Along Rainier Avenue
The man was walking across Rainier Avenue South when he was hit, according to Renton fire officials.

RENTON, WA - A man in his 30s was critically injured after he was hit by a driver along Rainier Avenue South Thursday afternoon. The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. along the 200 block of Rainier Avenue South, which is approximately in front of the Safeway near the corner of South 3rd Street. The incident closed the northbound lanes of Rainier Avenue for several hours between 3rd Street and Airport Way.
The man was not in a crosswalk when he was hit, fire officials said. The car hit the man at a high rate of speed causing "a lot of trauma," said Renton Fire Capt. Chuck De Smith. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
