When the officers arrived at the apartment complex, they reported a 20-year-old man had assaulted two family members. According to investigators, the officers spoke to the man in the apartment doorway and noted he was naked and holding a knife.
Officers said the man ignored orders to drop the knife and began to move toward them. He was shot by an officer as he moved out of the doorway and was declared dead at the scene by medics, police said.
