Police Record Largest Drug Bust In Renton History

Renton police seized an estimated $1.7 million in narcotics Monday, making for the largest drug bust in department history, officials said.

RENTON, WA — Renton police and the Valley SWAT Team logged the city's largest-ever drug bust Monday, seizing an estimated $1.7 million in illegal drugs after a lengthy investigation, officials said Thursday.

According to police, the operation netted a massive cache of narcotics, including:

  • 39 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 8.75 pounds of heroin
  • 6.6 pounds of cocaine
  • 5,000 Oxycontin pills

Police also confiscated two guns during the arrest.

In a social media post, Renton police said two people were taken in custody and are expected to be charged with intent to distribute illegal narcotics.

"We appreciate and recognize the dedication and time of all those involved to make this a successful seizure and take these drugs off the street," police wrote. "As this is an open investigation no other information can be released at this time."
