PowerUp For A Good Cause: Gamers and Families Unite!!

Come and get your game on while helping out a good cause! Gaming brings families and generations together and now you can do that for PACT!

On January 25, 2015 the Institute for Family Development will be putting on the PowerUp 4 Families Fund Raising event to benefit the PACT (Parents and Children Together) program.

PACT provides in-home counseling, parent skill building, and support to high risk, low income families not engaged in or not benefiting from other community services. PACT therapists teach families a wide range of skills (i.e. praise, positive discipline, emotion management, problem solving, budgeting, and school readiness). We also help family members access ongoing formal and informal supports to maintain and continue improvements in family functioning, relationships, and child wellbeing.

The program now receives funding from United Way and several cities in King County. But the need for our services far outstrips our capacity with the funds we have available. Your donation will allow us to expand that capacity. Based on positive program evaluations, PACT has now been designated a “promising practice” by the Washington State Institute for Public Policy.
