Pro Badminton Club Planned For Downtown Renton
The Bellevue Badminton Club hopes to open the 25,000 square-foot club in early 2019.

RENTON, WA - If you don't play already, it might be time to take up badminton. The Bellevue Badminton Club is building a 25,000 square-foot badminton facility behind the downtown Walmart.
The facility will include 12 badminton courts, a pro shop, and some office space. The application for the facility, called the Lake Washington Badminton Club, has been approved, according to city records. The company hopes to open the facility in the first quarter of 2019.
"It will have 12 professional vibration dampened wood badminton courts. Junior lessons will be offered along with open play and weekly league play. As with all Bellevue Badminton Club memberships, one membership will allow access to all of our clubs. We have a significant number of members that travel north to our Bellevue location, and we believe there will be a noticeable impact on court availability," Bellevue Badminton Club president Geoff Stensland wrote in a letter to members.
