Renton Churches Join Thousands at March for Life 2019 in Olympia
Thousands rally at March for Life seeking civil rights for the unborn and support for women facing crisis pregnancies
Thousands of people according to KIRO TV rallied for the March for Life in Olympia on Tuesday, including three buses from Renton’s St. Anthony and St. Stephen the Martyr Parishes. The longest annual protest in Washington state brought families, school youth and people of all ages to the steps of the Capitol to hear speakers call for civil rights for unborn babies and parental notification laws for minors seeking abortion.
It was a joyful, peaceful rally time with singing, clapping and speakers who encouraged attendees to shout “We Love You” to a small handful of counter-protesters supporting abortion.
Earlier in the day, Seattle Catholic Auxiliary Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg shared that people of faith, those of other beliefs and atheists care about protecting and promoting human life during a Mass for Life held in nearby Lacey. After the March for Life rally Renton residents joined others around the state in visiting legislators.

Lawmakers or staff heard women share heart-wrenching stories of the painful consequences that their abortion had caused them and how abortion harms both mother and child.
Some mothers told how the practice of abortion sends a wrong message to their children about violence. Legislators were also encouraged not to vote for laws the would impede alternative crisis pregnancy centers that provide support and care to women finding themselves with an unplanned pregnancy.
