Renton Cop Assaulted By Man Carrying Loaded Gun
The incident happened Wednesday south of the main downtown area.

RENTON, WA - Police are saying that a Renton officer was assaulted by a suspect carrying a stolen gun during a disturbance in a neighborhood south of the downtown area. Officers responded to a call of a verbal dispute on Wednesday, when all of a sudden, a suspect "rushed" an officer.
The assault came when the suspect apparently poked the officer in the chest. When police went to arrest the man, he resisted, and continued to threaten the officer, police said. Police found the man carrying a loaded stolen handgun with a round in the chamber.
Meanwhile, people gathered around the scene, which required a large response from other officers to contain. Two other officers were injured while trying to get the suspect to settle down - police say he was trying to slip out of handcuffs.
