Renton Councilman Reelected Chair Of Sound Cities Committee
Ed Prince will oversee the Sound Cities Association Board Public Issues Committee.

From Renton City: Renton City Councilmember Ed Prince has been unanimously reelected to chair the Public Issues Committee of the Sound Cities Association Board (SCA), which represents 38 King County cities and provides a regional voice for more than one million people. Councilmember Prince will also serve as one of five elected officials on the SCA Executive Committee.
“The PIC is responsible for making recommendations on all policies and committee appointments,” said Deanna Dawson, SCA Executive Director. “We are very fortunate to have Councilmember Prince chair this critical committee. His leadership, consensus building skills and dedication have contributed immensely to addressing the challenges and opportunities facing all King County communities.”
The PIC is SCA’s vehicle for bringing all proposed policies to the 38-member cities and for member cities to bring policy proposals to SCA. The PIC builds consensus on all SCA regional policies on areas such as economic and community development, transportation, land use, health, government operations, the environment, education, public safety, social welfare and other issues. The PIC not only evaluates and recommends policy positions, but it also recommends regional committee and board appointments to the SCA Board of Directors. This will be Councilmember Prince’s second consecutive year as chair of this important regional committee.
