RENTON, WA - If you can help Renton police Det. LeAnn Whitney raise $1,500 for Special Olympics Washington, she'll let you watch her jump into frigid Puget Sound with dozens of other "polar bears."
The annual polar bear plunge is a big fundraiser for Special Olympics Washington, and this year the organization is hoping to top its 2016 goal by $10,000 by raising a total of $150,000.
As of Thursday morning, Whitney was more than halfway toward her personal $1,500 goal. You can view her fundraising page here.
