Renton Makes List Of Best Places In U.S. For First-Time Homebuyers

RENTON, WA - The personal finance website Nerdwallet has ranked Renton the 146th best place out of 448 U.S. cities for first-time home buyers, according to a study released today.

NerdWallet looked at the 448 largest U.S. cities and then ranked them according to how affordable, livable, an economically stable they are. They used data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, the website NeighborhoodScout, and Down Payment Resource, which shows the amount of homeowner assistance in a given area.

The study ranked Renton 146th because of its relatively stable local economy, and some measure of affordability.
