Renton Man, 79, Ejected From SUV In New Year's Day Crash

The crash happened along Martin Luther King Jr. Way South early in the morning Tuesday.

RENTON, WA - A 79-year-old Renton man was seriously injured when he crashed his SUV along Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. Police believe he may have been driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday near the I-5-MLK Way interchange. Robert Cooke was heading eastbound when his 2005 Honda CRV left the road and rolled several times. Cooke was ejected from the vehicle in a drainage creek, according to state patrol.

Cook was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Police did not immediately know if he was wearing a seat belt.
