Renton Man Dies After 300-Foot Fall Near Snoqualmie Pass
The 46-year-old went hiking on July 4 and had not been heard from since.
RENTON, WA — A 46-year-old hiker from Renton was found dead on Wednesday near a popular Snoqualmie Pass-area trail, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.
The man set out to hike Snow Lake on July 4, but never returned home. His family filed a missing person report on July 9 with Renton police, and a King County detective found the man's car that same day.
King County search-and-rescue teams located the man's body on Wednesday morning about 300 feet below a cliff. Investigators believe the man slipped and fell. Although hiked by scores of people during the summer months, the Snow Lake trail does cross multiple rock falls.
