Renton Man Murdered By Tacoma Married Couple: Police
The 67-year-old victim was found dead in a home on the outskirts of Renton on Sept. 19.

RENTON, WA - A married couple from Tacoma killed a 67-year-old man during a home robbery last week, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. After killing the man, the couple tied him, wrapped him in blankets, and stashed the victim in a shed, according to police.
Around 7 p.m. on Sept. 20, two handymen discovered the victim's body in his home off of 196th Avenue Southeast in the Desire Lake area. King County detectives determined that his death was suspicious.
According to police, the robbery happened on Sept. 19 when a 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman knocked on the victim's door. When he opened the door, the man pepper-sprayed the victim, and then hit him in the head. That blow killed the victim, according to police.

The couple then allegedly bound the victim's ankles and wrists and wrapped him in a blanket and a tarp and then put him in a shed. The couple burglarized the victim's house and stole his car, according to police.
After police publicized the possible murder, police believe the married couple drove the victim's car from their home in Tacoma to another place in the city and then lit it on fire. Tacoma police later found the torched car.

Police arrested the man on charges of murder, arson, and residential burglary. The woman was arrested on charges of arson, residential burglary, and rendering criminal assistance.
