Renton Offers Neighborhood Grants

The 2012 Neighborhood Project Grant Program is now accepting applications. More than 70 recognized neighborhood associations within Renton are eligible for the funds. Is your neighborhood one of them?

The grants help to bolster community projects in an effort to build stronger neighborhoods and encourage partnerships between the City and its neighbors.

Eligible projects include physical improvements that build or enhance a feature of the neighborhood or benefit the general public. 

The grants range from $3,000 to $5,000 per project, although the actual amount is based on a project’s merit as determined by the Renton City Council based on the recommendation of a staff-level interdepartmental team.

Last year the City approved nearly $50,000 in neighborhood grants.

Grant applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012. Print out an applications from the city’s website at www.rentonwa.gov.
