Renton Police Arrest Suspect Who Hit King County Deputy

RENTON, WA - A suspected car thief hit a King County Sheriff's Deputy during an incident Saturday, but was later caught by Renton police. After running from police, the suspect was caught walking along the Cedar River Trail in Maple Valley, according to police.

The suspect hit the deputy while driving a stolen Mazda SUV. After allegedly hitting the deputy, he fled "at a high rate of speed, and in an extremely reckless manner," according to Renton police. A number of police responded to the situation.

The stolen car was located in Maple Valley, but the suspect wasn't inside. He was located walking along the Cedar River Trail by a K9 unit.
