Renton Police Capture Fugitive Wanted In Air Jordans Robbery

RENTON, WA - Renton police recently captured a fugitive wanted in multiple robberies in Washington, California, and Oregon. In Seattle, Syres Stiles was wanted for his involvement in the robbery of a pair of Air Jordan sneakers.

Renton police captured Stiles on Feb. 3 after getting a tip through Washington's Most Wanted. According to Washington's Most Wanted, Stiles was under Department of Corrections supervision in Washington after he was accused of participating in a multi-state robbery spree. Stiles and three others allegedly stole $60,000 worth of goods from retail stores in California, Oregon, and Washington.

Meanwhile, Seattle police had a felony robbery warrant out for Stiles after he allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint of a pair of Air Jordans in a Safeway parking lot. Stiles allegedly lured the seller to the parking lot under the guise that he was going to buy the sneakers.

Stiles had escaped from a Department of Corrections office in December. When officers there tried to take him into custody, he ran, leaving behind a pair of shoes and his pants.

Renton police captured Stiles during a traffic stop last Friday.
