Renton Teacher Charged With Child Porn Possession: DOJ

RENTON, WA — A 35-year-old Renton elementary school music teacher was arrested recently for possession of child pornography, according to the Department of Justice.

Christopher S. Newcombe was arrested on Friday at his home in Federal Way. According to the FBI, the message service KIK alerted federal authorities about explicit images of young boys that were sent from an address traced to Newcombe.

In addition to the arrest, the FBI conducted a search of electronic devices in Newcombe's possession. He is being held at the federal detention center in SeaTac, according to jail records.

Newcombe was most recently employed at Cascade Elementary School, but has taught at private and public schools in Tacoma, Federal Way, and Bainbridge Island, according to authorities.
