Sad Story, Happy Ending: Moving Van Stolen In Renton Found
A couple who moved to Renton from Chicago this week had their entire moving van stolen from a hotel parking lot.
RENTON, WA - A couple from Chicago got a nasty welcome to Puget Sound yesterday. Staying at a Renton hotel, the couple's moving van - with all their possession inside - was stolen.
KOMO News first reported Britt and Lee Emerick's sad story on Tuesday. But on Wednesday morning, the King County Sheriff's Office reported some happy news: their stolen 26-foot Penske truck was found in the unincorporated Maple Heights area.
The sheriff's office said the truck was just parked alongside a house. Two people were arrested, and deputies were in the process of tracking down Britt and Lee Emerick's stuff.
