The second day of the Seahawks Rookie minicamp saw continued upbeat tempo from Friday's two-hour camp. It an indoctrination into how things are done by head coach Pete Carroll.
The team’s 10 draft choices, as well as seven of the 10 rookie free agents who were signed after the draft, will join the offseason workouts on Monday after one more day of rookie minicamp (not open to the public).
Much of the talk as been with first round pick Bruce Irvin and third round pick Russell Wilson who will compete for the starting role at quarterback (with Tarvaris Jackson, Matt Flynn or Josh Portis).

Carroll told the media after Friday's practice "it's hard for you to imagine just how much you have learned just to get on the field and run plays, but the coches did a really good job and the players have studied hard coming in and we were able to go out there and execute and put together a nice practice. There were a lot of exciting things."
Russell Wilson took 90 percent of the snaps during Friday and Saturday's practices. Carroll also said on Friday "he threw a lot of really good balls in a lot of tights windows and did some good stuff. he had a little trouble on the deep ball - the defense played some things well. But all in all, I was really impressed."

First round pick Bruce Irvin said it felt good about Friday's minicamp. "I'm startinga new charpter of my life. It's different than college, but I think I did pretty good." Saturday was no different as Irvin work his way around the Hawk's offensive line to sack (not sack) the quarterback several times. "It's hard (not hitting the quarterback Russell Wilson), but it's just something you've got to do."
Of the over 50 at practice Saturday everyone is wanting a spot on the team. However not every spot has an opening due to the Seahawks current depth at many positions. "Well, it's nothing to complain about. It is what it is. We can't do anything about," said Carroll. "We're not just tippy-toeing along. We know this is part of the staging for thei ability to compete when the othereguys get here. They need to learn a lot of football. We're trying to help these guys so that thye can compete and become part of this football team if they 're worthy. It's really exciting for us. Thses guys are so hongry. They're just chomping at the bit. We'll wear them out by Sunday.
