Shooting At Renton Restaurant Appears 'Random,' Police Say

The shooting happened Wednesday night around 9 p.m. near the downtown area restaurant.

RENTON, WA - A 22-year-old woman was wounded in a "random" shooting near a restaurant in the downtown area Wednesday night, police say.

Renton police say officers responded to Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse, 225 Southwest 7th Street, around 9:19 p.m. on a report of a shooting. At the scene, the found the woman with a bullet wound in her leg.

According to police, a 32-year-old woman walked up to the victim's car as she was backing out of a space at Jimmy Mac's and opened fire. Also in the car with the victim were her 3-year-old daughter and another person, but they were unharmed.

Police brought in a K9 unit, and were able to track down the suspected shooter. The woman was arrested on suspicion of assault, but she refused to speak to police, Renton police spokesman David Liebman said. The suspect had a gun in her pocket, police said.

The victim was taken to Valley Medical Center for treatment of a non-life threatening wound.
