SIFF Selections: May 23

'Dance Town' and '12 Paces Without a Head' to play at the IKEA Performing Arts Center today as part of the Seattle International Film Festival.

6 p.m. Dance Town is a 95-minute Korean film with English subtitles. The film follows a North Korean couple who plan to defect and flee to South Korea. Before they can escape, the husband, Jung Man-il is arrested; however his wife Rhee Jung-nim is able to make her way to a safe, yet empty, life in South Korea. Watch the film to find out what happens next.

8:30 p.m. 12 Paces Without a Head, is a 102-minute German film with English subtitles. If high-sea adventures, cannon ball fights and pirate booty catch your interest, give this film a view. The fictitious tale is crafted around a real folk hero duo who begin to question if the life of a pirate is really all it's made out to be.

The film festival will continue in Renton through May 26 at the (IPAC). 

Now in its 37th year, SIFF will show films at multiple venues around Puget Sound in Seattle, Ballard, Everett, Kirkland, and Renton.
