Skyway Neighbors Save Woman In Wheelchair From House Fire
A neighbor out walking her dog in Skyway saw smoke, and then jumped into action.
RENTON, WA - Firefighters are praising the quick action of two Skyway residents who saved their elderly neighbor from a house fire Wednesday afternoon.
A woman was walking her dog along the 12100 block of 87th Avenue South around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when she saw smoke coming from a home. The woman alerted another neighbor who ran into the home and rescued an elderly woman, who was in her wheelchair.
The resident of the home and her rescuer made it out of the fire with minor injuries. Skyway Fire PIO Dave Nelson said on Thursday morning that both are expected to recover.
