Fire Reported In Renton Was Just A BBQ

RENTON, WA - What was initially reported as a house fire in Northeast Renton turned out to be just a barbecue. Firefighters were called to the 2200 block of Shelton Avenue Northeast just before 7 p.m. for a possible structure fire.

Renton firefighters urge residents to use 911, but advised that details help get the right resources to the scene.

"While we always stress early 911 calls, if you are driving by, don't be afraid to stop and confirm the problem. Detailed information allows us to get the appropriate units dispatched," firefighters wrote on Twitter.
