Suspect In Seward Park Sex Assault Arrested In Renton
A woman was sexually assaulted Oct. 1 in Seward Park.

RENTON, WA - Police have arrested a man in Renton accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Seattle's Seward Park in October last year. The assault happened along a popular and busy trail at the park in the middle of the day. The 28-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday, police said.
The attack happened around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. The victim was jogging along the lower loop, which skirts the edge of the park along the Lake Washington shoreline. The woman said that the suspect approached her with his pants down and began rubbing himself against her. She was able to break free and run away. Police searched for the suspect using boats and K9 dogs, but were unable to locate him.
The suspect was arrested by the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, a multi-agency law enforcement team that includes Seattle police. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail in suspicion of felony theft and indecent liberties.
