Thieves Rob Courier of $500,000 In Jewels at SeaTac Hotel

A jewelry courier was robbed of $500,000 in jewelry at a SeaTac hotel Monday night, but the suspects were later caught by state police in Chehalis.

The King County Sheriff's Office is reporting that the robbery happened at the Sleep Inn hotel at around 6 p.m. Monday. Three men wearing masks assaulted the courier in a hallway and took a bag containing jewels. The suspects then slashed a tire on the courier's car and fled the scene.

Washington State Patrol spotted the suspects' car at a gas station in Chehalis around 8 p.m. The trooper arrested the men, and they were booked into the King County jail on suspicion of robbery. Police were in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the suspect vehicle to recover the jewelry.
