Un-Agenda-ed

“Imagine a mind free from desire.” The Dalai Lama counsels it is not things or circumstances that create unbalancing, but the desire for things and circumstances.

One of the most common comments made is “I can’t meditate”.  But, try instead coming to meditation without the agenda, without the desire for a particular circumstance or outcome. Same with those who don’t come to yoga class, saying, “I’m not flexible”.  The primary action to yoga is to be at one with this breath, this body, this moment, this circumstance.

I had a wonderful weekend practicing with Ross Rayburn, who introduced his theme of New Beginnings with acceptance, surrender and “let go of the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves”.
