Everything You Need To Vote In Washington

Here are the easiest ways to register and a few pointers for the procrastinators

RENTON, WA — Election officials nationwide have declared September 24th National Voter Registration Day in an effort to get all eligable voters to the polls for November's General Election. In Washington State, a law enacted in 2018 means you can register to vote in-person all the way up to 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 5th. To save yourself a trip, you can register online or by mail through October 28th.

Here's a breakdown of your options:

Register to vote via the state's website at votewa.gov.

Print and mail a voter registration form to your county's election office or request a form be sent to you.

For those wanting to register in-person, you can do that all year at King County Elections HQ in Renton (919 SW Grady Way) or the Seattle Elections Annex (500 4th Ave., Room 440).

Between October 28th and November 5th (Election Day) residents can also visit special vote centers in Federal Way, Kenmore and Bellevue:

  • Federal Way 320th Library (848 S 320th St.)
  • Kenmore City Hall (18120 68th Ave. NE.)
  • Bellevue Library (111 100th Ave. NE)

In Pierce County, residents may register to vote in-person at the Pierce County Elections HQ (2501 S. 35th St. C).

Under the new Future Voter program this year, 16 and 17-year-olds can also sign up to be automatically registered the day they turn 18.

Ballots are mailed to registered voters at least 18 days before an election. Submitted ballots must be postmarked by Election Day. Drop boxes close at 8 p.m.
