Witnesses To Bad I-5 Crash Sought By WSP

The crash happened early Saturday morning, leaving one person with a fractured spine, according to state police.

TUKWILA, WA — State police are looking for anyone who might have witnessed a serious crash along I-5 in Tukwila over the weekend. The crash left one person with a fractured spine, and the driver was taken to jail for vehicular assault.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on Saturday in the northbound lanes of I-5 over the Duwamish River. The driver of the vehicle involved, a 2001 white Nissan Maxima, lost control while speeding through a curve. The car crashed into a barrier.

The 36-year-old passenger went to the hospital with spinal injuries. The driver was also hospitalized, but went to jail after being treated for a broken arm.
