100 Degrees In Puget Sound? Excessive Heat Watch Starts Tuesday

SEATTLE, WA - The hottest week in Puget Sound weather history happened in 1977 when there were four 95-degree or hotter days in a row, according to the National Weather Service. We could very likely come close to a week like that starting Tuesday. According to current forecasts, temperatures are going to rise into the high 80s and 90s beginning Tuesday, and many areas could see temperatures of 100 or higher on Thursday.

The entire region is under an excessive heat watch beginning Tuesday afternoon.

"Unusually hot weather is forecast beginning Tuesday and continuing through Friday. Record high temperatures will occur Wednesday and Thursday with highs on Thursday within 5 degrees of all time record highs," the heat watch says.

SEATTLE-BELLEVUE

• Monday: Sunny, with a high near 84. North wind 8 to 15 mph.
• Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 59. North wind 9 to 16 mph becoming east northeast in the evening.
• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 88. North wind 7 to 11 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 62.
• Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
• Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 66.
• Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97.
• Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 65.
• Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
• Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 60.

PUYALLUP-LAKEWOOD

• Monday: Sunny, with a high near 85. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
• Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 57. East northeast wind 7 to 17 mph.
• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Light north northeast wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning.
• Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 61.
• Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 95.
