Snow In Sunday Forecast For Ever City - Except Seattle

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Saturday night.

SEATTLE, WA - If you like snow, hopefully you don't live in Seattle.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for just about every city from Tacoma to Bellingham - but not Seattle. For everyone else, expect up to 2 inches Sunday morning, and maybe up to 4 inches in the Cascade foothills.

The winter weather advisory will be in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday. Read the full advisory here.

The Cascades will get hammered with up to 2 feet Sunday, and the lowlands could see intermittent "snow bursts," according to University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass.

"We are going to be heavily rainshadowed (snow shadowed) by the Olympics since the general flow is westerly/northwesterly. But we do have a chance of a snowburst as the leading edge of the cold air from the Fraser (known as the "arctic front" in the business) moves through. No more than an inch, though," Mass predicted in a recent blog post.

Thousands of people lost power in western Washington state after high winds swept through overnight, and the National Weather Service says more strong winds are expected. The weather service said Monday that many areas will continue to see gusts topping 50 mph, with even stronger winds on the coast and in north-central and northeastern Washington.
