5 Things To Do On Labor Day In Puget Sound

Watch wolves eat, drink some blackberry beer, or get a unique view of Snoqualmie Falls this Labor Day weekend in Puget Sound.

SEATTLE, WA — If you chose to hang around the house this Labor Day you might be looking for something to do. We've combed through local events happening on Labor Day to find five that are a little different, and definitely worth going out for.

1) Bremerton Blackberry Festival — Bremerton's 30th Blackberry Festival is happening all weekend, but the final day is Monday at 10 a.m. You can taste almost every type of food flavored with the tart summer fruit, from beer to sausage. The festival happens along Washington Avenue at the downtown waterfront.

2) Labor Day at Town Hall — Join U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Seattle, and former Clinton-era labor secretary Robert Reich for a discussion on the state of the American labor (and Reich's new book, "The Common Good"). 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall Seattle.

3) Evergreen State Fair — The final day of the Evergreen State Fair is on Labor Day. It's a great alternative to the big show in Puyallup, and features all the food and amusement rides you can handle, plus 4H, lumberjack competitions, and more. Opens at 10 a.m. at the fairgrounds in Monroe.

4) Antique Train Rides — The Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie will roll out its antique train for a special weekday ride. The train snakes through the Snoqualmie Valley and Cascades foothills, and past Snoqualmie Falls.

5) Northwest Trek Feeding Frenzy — The animals at Northwest Trek near Eatonville will be getting special Labor Day treats, and you can watch. On Monday, the park will feed wolves (a carcass) and porcupines. Other animals, like bears and cougars, will also be fed throughout the weekend.
