64-Year Rain Record Could Fall In Puget Sound
Even for rainy Puget Sound, this is quite a feat. Rain on Friday and Saturday will tie us with a 1955 record.
SEATTLE, WA — If it rains on Friday and Saturday, we'll tie the record. If it rains Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we'll break the record.
The all-time record for consecutive April days with rain in the Seattle area was set 64 years ago in 1955. That year, it rained for 11 days between April 7 to April 17. On Thursday morning, the ninth straight day with rain, we notched the third-longest consecutive rainy April stretch behind 1963.
It's very possible that we'll tie or even break that 1955 record. There's rain in the forecast through Monday. However, the chance of rain on Friday is only 20 percent. Our best bet for accumulation will be in the overnight hours.

In an odd twist, the rain gauge at Sea-Tac airport has only measured 1.71 inches of rain so far this April. That's well below the normal of 2.71 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
Even if you hate the rain, at least you know there will be some kind of payoff, no matter how small.
