AG Ferguson May Sue Trump Over Border National Emergency
Attorney General Bob Ferguson said he would take "steps to block this unlawful action" if Trump draws funds from Washington for the wall.

SEATTLE, WA - Attorney General Bob Ferguson will likely sue Donald Trump if the president's border emergency declaration takes money away from Washington, he said in a statement.
Trump on Friday morning declared a national emergency to get funding to build over 200 miles of a border wall. Under the declaration, Trump will be able to use over $6 billion without the permission of Congress.
The bulk of the funding - $3.6 billion - will come from Department of Defense construction projects. It's unclear if any of those projects are in Washington, although there is a significant military presence here between Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Navy installations in Puget Sound.

"We are working with members of our congressional delegation to determine if this action depletes federal funds flowing to Washington," he said. "If Washington is harmed, my office will take appropriate steps to block this unlawful action, just as we’ve blocked more than a dozen illegal and unconstitutional policies of this president."
