Alaska Airlines Rated Best In Customer Satisfaction By JD Power

In contrast to recent controversies involving United and Delta, Alaska earned its 10th consecutive customer service award this week.

SEATTLE, WA — Seattle's Alaska Airlines has been ranked best in overall customer satisfaction by J.D. Power for the 10th year in a row, the company announced Wednesday. The award comes in contrast to recent outrage over the treatment of passengers (and large rabbits) on other airlines. Alaska beat out bigger carriers like Delta, United and American, according to J.D. Power.

The J.D. Power rankings are based on more than 11,000 responses from passengers about customer experience taken between between April 2016 and March 2017. Alaska earned the maximum rating in seven out of eight categories, from reservation experience to aircraft experience. The only category Alaska didn't receive a top rating for was "service experience," which measures amenities like in-flight food and entertainment.

"Our 20,000 remarkable and kind-hearted employees are what distinguish Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and Horizon Air. The rest of the leadership team and I would like to thank them for their incredible dedication to our guests. We're working to achieve our higher purpose of creating an airline people love and recognition like this confirms that we're heading in the right direction," Alaska CEO Brad Tilden said in a release.
