Apple to Update iPhone X Software to Make it Responsive

"We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment," as Apple’s spokesperson quoted to an agency. "After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again. This will be addressed in an upcoming software update."

iPhone X launch was a stunning event wherein the phone’s features were revealed to the audience. A few weeks later, users found to have a major issue in iPhone X as its screen becomes temporarily unresponsive in the extreme weather conditions.

The problem was reported through iPhone subreddit community earlier this week. Some users have also complained about iPhone X being unresponsive around 0-degree celsius 32-degree Fahrenheit. The previous iPhone versions have been praised to have exceptional features for the users in order to take their user experience to another level.

Among various Reddit user, one wrote, “I've noticed that my iPhone X screen becomes very unresponsive as soon as I step outside. It literally takes 2 seconds from going inside to the cold outdoors and my screen stops being very responsive. I try swiping on websites and it doesn't register my finger. It's very noticeable. Is anyone else having this problem?” Several views were poured in the support of the comment after which the tech giant acknowledged the issue and promised to fix it as soon as possible.

iphone X has a front-facing infrared camera and the light sensor for Face ID authentication including TrueDepth photography feature. There was speculation that the light changing capacity of iPhone X from indoor to the outdoors could be one possible reason for the issue. Apple recommends the temperature range in between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit for its iOS devices.

However, Apple has issued security guideline list for the users that have been made available for them on the website. The list highlights the temperature that affects the condition of iOS devices.

Amidst all the speculation, it’s still not clear what the issue is. However, the tech giant for the very first time has acknowledged the problem so quickly. In response, Apple has also promised to regulate the problem in its upcoming release for iPhone X.
