Ballard Underground Presents 'Communicating Doors'
The play is the comic tour de force about a dominatrix who finds herself in the hotel room of an elderly man to perform questionable tasks.

From Lamplight Productions: Lamplight Productions and Katie Soule’ are proud to present COMMUNICATING DOORS, one of Alan Ayckbourn’s most ingenious plays. Directed by an expert in comedy, Ken Michels (One Man, Two Guvnors - Sound Theater Company, Big Fish & Peter and the Starcatcher - Bainbridge Performing Arts), Communicating Doors opens at The Ballard Underground in Seattle August 31st and runs throughSeptember 16th, including a special benefit performance on Monday, September 3, supporting the LaFond Charitable Trust.
COMMUNICATING DOORS is the comic tour de force about a local dominatrix who finds herself in the hotel room of an elderly man to perform a questionable task. She opens the wrong door and begins running for her life. Soon she is confronting her own past by way of an older woman she runs into and the two join forces to prevent a murder. Little do they know that the gradual friendship with change the future for both of them. Back to the Future meets Alfred Hitchcock, this wonderfully inventive story is told with comic genius and great heart as only delivered through Alan Ayckbourn’s imagination.

Communicating Doors is brought to you by Lamplight Productions and Katie Soule’, who also brought you their previous hit productions: 2017’s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and 2016’s The 39 Steps. Communicating Doors features the talents of Molly Hall (Poopay), Cindy Giese French (Ruella), Colleen Davis (Jessica), Dara Lillis (Julian), Jason Gingold (Reece), and Terry Boyd (Harold).
The creative team includes set designer Rick Wright, lighting designer Gwyn Skone, sound designer William French, and costumer design Kristina Winch.
Playing at The Ballard Underground located at 2220 NW Market St, (lower level) Seattle.

Proceeds from a special 7:30 pm Labor Day showing will benefit the LaFond Charitable Trust, a nonprofit organization founded in honor of Denise LaFond, which funds medical research for early detection of liver cancer.
