Be Careful: It's Snowing

Light snow showers were moving through the Seattle-Bellevue area around 7 a.m. Friday.

SEATTLE, WA - Snow showers began moving through the region early Friday morning, dropping light snow from Renton to Redmond.

The snow was falling heavier at higher elevations, and as a rain-snow mix closer to sea level. However, there were reports of snow in Seattle, Duvall, Redmond, and as far south as Olympia.

In a special weather statement released Thursday, the National Weather Service said that snow accumulations could be between 1 and 2 inches in some areas, but would melt during the day Friday.
